Charles Redell started working with Sustainable Industries in January 2008. Prior to that he was a reporter and then editor of Energy Prospects West, an online journal tracking the utility industry in the Western United States. He's also written and edited a community newspaper covering public housing communities in King County in Washington, covered upcoming bands for Seattle's alt-weekly The Stranger and wrote political news for Seattle Weekly, TABLET and Seattlest.com.

Charles was born and raised in New York City. When he moved to Seattle in 1995 though, he immediately accepted the West Coast lifestyle and hasn't looked back since. He lives with his lovely wife Alexis, seriously cute dog Zolo and too-fat but wonderful cat Jake in a condo near Discovery Park where he often runs.
